家好月圓- 分分鐘需要你

Never a TVB drama fan, 家好月圓 (Moonlight Resonance) is keeping me glued to its every episodes!
Strong casts, fantastic story line, just like its predecessor 溏心風暴 (Heart Of Greed)!
Love this song - just the words I would need to warm my aching heart.

Don't Laugh At Me - Mark Wills

I like quotes. I am impressed by how a phrase makes sense of life moments.
In times of crisis, fits of anger, moments of pain, here are some beautiful quotes to remember:

Label jars not people
~
Practise moderation in all things, except Love
~
Experiences of life, whether good or bad, they are what they need to be to create who you are
~
Make fear your friend, not your master
~
Death ends a life, not a relationship
~
You never know what you have until it's gone
~
Nobody is worth your tears, and the one who is won't wish to see you cry
~
Nobody really cares if you're miserable, so you might as well be happy
~
Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I really need it
~
Memories are the most valuable of possessions, so go out there and make as many as you can
~
Dont quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion
~
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing
~
Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones
~
Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat
~
You were born an original, don't die a copy
~
Love is in unexpected places, so search under the rock, who knows
~
Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom
~
A person is able to become truly strong when they become capable of protecting the one they cherish
~
It's never too late to become what you may have been
~
True friends stay when everyone else leaves
~
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind
~
Cowards die many times before they are dead
~
The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he still lives
~
Imagination is more important than knowledge, it brings you further too!
~
Imagination, not intelligence, made us human
~
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself, so start sketching!
~
Happiness is a path, not a destination
~
Living leads you to death by the minute - stop procrastinating!
~
Don't Laugh At Me - Mark Wills
Chorus:
Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's eyes we're all the same
Someday we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

Steamboat - Crystal Jade @ Holland Village

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao
241/241A Holland Avenue
Operating hours for South Northern Steamboat Buffet
Monday - Sunday: 8:30pm - 1:00am
For reservation: 6463 0968

It was a cold, rainy late evening, and all we could think of it pipping hot soup with lots and lots of food! This steamboat buffet restaurant that gives us just what we need.

The menu includes many meat items, different types of fish balls, prawns, vegetables and dim sums too ~ my fave xiao long baos!

The restaurant has a variety of sauces that you can choose to go with your food, from sesame, bean paste, peanut, garlic, chilli... i gave all a try and love the bean paste + peanut!]

Before ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After

We went for the bi-combi soup base - pig bone soup & chinese parsley soup. We were so excited when the soup started boiling and dipping in our favourite items added new flavours to the already tasty stock.

Notice the stacks of Xiao Long Baos? Heh... We cleaned 5 stacks of that!
The gigantic Char Siew Baos were just as yummy.

It was an overall comfortable steamboat experience with a decent selection of fresh ingredients - definitely a recommended dining place for big groups and the late nite supper lovers!

Pork ribs prawn noodles@ Golden Mile

Hungry for a bowl of pork ribs prawn noodles?
Chung Cheng 崇正
505 Beach Road
#01-59 Golden Mile Food Centre

I was craving for prawn noodles, hence chose this dish over their popular "Chilli Mee", which I reckon would just be a bowl of mee with very good chilli (duh...)!
Just look at all the ingredients filling the surface of the bowl
- the fishcakes, prawns and tender pork ribs!
Unknowingly, I finished everything in the bowl, and all of that was for a mere price of $3!
Was there in the evening, heard there would be a queue if you were to come during lunchtime.
So, be warned.

Square@ Furama Riverfront

Furama Riverfront, Singapore
405 Havelock Road, Singapore 169633
Tel: (65) 6333 8898
http://www.furama.com/riverfront/

Not to be confused with Furama City Centre in Chinatown, this Havelock presence introduces an international buffet that has won Singapore Top Restaurants Wine & Dine for years.
The entrance intrigues your taste buds with their attractive dessert bar!

Here are some of the dishes picked
- The salmon was sooo good, and as you can see, it's really popular!

The main attraction of this place, though, comes with this ice-cream stick...
Unfortunately, each person is only allowed 1 serving of this dish and thus given out 1 stick each.

It is this... 'Live' Drunken Prawns!

Before getting "drunk", watch them jump!
Click PLAY!

The prawns were hauled from the tank and threw into a pot of boiling broth. Capped for a few mins, the chef poured a few tablespoon of Shaoxing wine (traditional Chinese fermented wines from rice) and added the boiled prawns and broth into the bowl to serve.

It was really good and bro & i were lucky that we had 2 non-prawn eaters with us and we got 2 servings each instead of 1! *wink*

& More Prawns!

Before getting too stuffed, I got to this inviting station and made some interesting finds.

This plate consists of Wild Strawberry Mousse, Citrus Chocolate Bavarois* & Semolina^ Almond Cake
*French word for Bavarian cream - thickened gelatin flavoured with liqueur.
^ purified middlings of hard wheat, usually coarse

My favourite Tau Suan (Split Green Beans/ Mung Beans soup)
- The fried dough sticks were alright and it wasn't too sweet.
However, I thought the beans were a bit hard. Pity.

One of my favourite dessert - The Blueberry Galette
Galette - a general term used in French to designate various types of flat, round or freeform crusty cakes
It had a rich, crispy and buttery tart with a center chiffon cake and a blueberry top.
Nice!

Enjoy a cup of Boncafé espresso coffee before you leave the place!

Sunset Grill & Pub @ Seletar

Sunset Grill & Pub
140B Piccadilly, Seletar Air Base, East Camp Near Singapore Flying Club / College, Singapore
Tel: 64820244

Finding your way to this place is a challenge. Should you be lucky, you could find a car to tail - all cars heading into this old Seletar camp in the evening got to be heading there for dinner & drinks!

Don't get deceived by the dark and eerie pathway to the entrance...

the place is fully lit and bustling with customers on a Friday evening.
An alfresco casual dining experience awaits...

Our order came promptly and service was good.
We started our course with their only two available soups on the menu -
Clam Chowder & Mushroom Soup, served with a huge slice of crusty garlic bread

The clam chowder was thick and creamy, just enough creaminess to coat the back of a spoon.
Generous chunks of clams, carrots and other diced ingredients filled the bowl
- highly recommended to seafood soup lovers.

The mushroom soup had a rich mushroom flavour and the chopped mushrooms when stirred into the soup gave it a velvety texture
- Very mushroom-y indeed!

We were told that the highlight of this place is their Buffalo Wings, with a level of spiciness of your choice from Level 1 to 10. I just don't believe if anybody would ever order a Level 10. Despite being able to take spiciness considerably well, we humbly went for Level 2 half dozen wings and were already sniffing and gulping ice water like crazy!
A couple beside us ordered a Level 3 and it was funny to see the guy with red, pouting lips after devouring their spicy wings! *Heex*
Nonetheless, yes, we did finish ours, with lots of ice water and root beer!

Having 3/4 filled our stomachs with chillis and water, we shared a main course before rounding up for the night
- Hamburger; with add-ons, egg, onions, bacons, tomatoes.
A heavy layered burger - very tasty!

As the name suggests, this place is also a pub and they do have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages on their menu. A nice place to chill out and if you would like a challenge to locate this place and succeeded, might as well stay put and try out their menu.
P.S. You've ventured really deep in and won't be able to find any other food places in sight anyway!
Worth a try if you have the transportation means.
