May Days: Celebrations and Cakes

A busy month ~ dipping wallets, full bellies and big smiles!

Carriage box fit for my Princesses 1 year old birthday! I added a little card and packets of biscuits (小馒头).
Sad to say, the biscuits attracted them first, not the carriage.

Cute garden theme - Popular Lychee cake from Pine Garden
Pine Garden is popular for their Lychee Martini but no alcohol this time, since this celebration was filled with balloons, babies' cries, and of course, goodie bags filled with sweets & party hats.
Adults are the accompanied guests, not the VIPs.

Apple Cake with Martini from Pine Garden
Fortunately, another birthday this month and we got to try the Martini!
An alcohol-idiot, I couldn't tell the difference but those who tried gave thumbs-up.

Shou Tao from D'Buns. $0.70/piece.
Beautiful pink, soft and rich lotus fillings.
It was Mum's Birthday and she has reached ahmm... an age-that-she-wouldn't-want-me-to-tell! I thought it was a good year to get her these, commonly known as Longevity Buns.
An auspicious gift for Birthdays - older birthdays. =p

Sakura Cake from The Patissier
Cakes from The Patissier are really pretty!

Enough of birthdays parties, we had our First wedding dinner invitation together as well!

Thanks for bringing me along. :)

Ben's and Jerry - Dempsey Hill

Dempsey Hill
http://www.dempseyhill.com/

Take away a full day's of stress and drama with a stroll at Dempsey Hill, it never fails to do that for me, especially so with a visit to Ben's.
The weather was warm and humid. It was a Wednesday evening and we needed to get out of home to find a place where we could chat without the city buzz.

Ben's and Jerry/ CA
The entrance of the place presents a laid back style, they have different kinds of seating arrangement: tall chairs, benches, sofas - take your pick.

On the other corner of Ben's is CA, a California style dining which serves sandwiches, burgers, tortillas and cocktails.
We felt a little hungry and decided to give this a try.

BBQ Chicken Tortillas and Nachos with guacamole sauce (avocado-based dip)
Nothing fantastic about the guacamole, tasted a little blend. I still prefer my nachos with cheese. But, the tortilla was served with chunky and juicy chicken, mushrooms and greens.
It was sooo yummy!

Here for the ice cream and the ice cream we must have.
We shared this humongous waffle - double ice cream scoops of your choice (Chunky Monkey & Strawberry) and extra whipped cream!

We spent almost 2 hours here, just chatting the night away, pouring our hearts and filling our stomachs. It was certainly a satisfying night.

My guy can cook!

He made all these himself, especially for me!
And they all tasted really good!
how sweet.
